for more information, or to get your wordrobe Revamaped and Refashioned email Jenni or Minx at

the outfit i'm workin is by Minx Parlor
but yeah the event was amazing, tons of fabulously dressed men and women. my friend loreal and Arthur were drawing with markers some real cool modern designs on paper and cups!

fashion world: MIAMI HEAT!!!

dear bloggers,
whats up, recently i have been trying to overcome the urge to go the the sandy sunny beaches of Miami, Florida. (perhaps the weather in CHI is less than agreeable) As i usually do when i think of a wondrous adventure i next think of what i will wear, and accord that to what i will be doing. so i think what would look very... MIAMI?
first there are three things that are essential for your Miami wardrobe
1.) designer bag/designer sunglasses
2.) breathable bold exotic prints.
3.) sexy glamour!
Now Miami has two major fashion events there is:
1.Miami fashion week international
this event is held every year during the spring and Miami Fashion Week was started in 1998 and is the world's largest fashion week for Latin American and the Caribbean fashion designers.
it has many clothes by up and comings in the Miami scene.
2.Mercedes Benz Fashion Week- Miami
Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim is presented annually in Miami Beach, Florida at The Raleigh Hotel. Coinciding with the swimwear industry's largest trade show, the invitation only event provides a runway platform for designers' swimwear and resort collections with exposure to national and international media, style setters and fashionistas. Fashion, beauty, supermodels and celebrities come together in South Beach to celebrate the sexiest swimwear designs in the world.
some of the designers include:
Ed Hardy Swimwear
True religion swimwear

no as for the rest of us folks looking for a nice vacation on the beach. for woman some designers to recommend for a nice Beach look.
Diane Von furstenburg wrap dress
Louis Vuitton Canvas bag
prada sunglasses
Roberto Cavalli
Armani exchange
wet seal

just think sexy, flowy, cool, prints and lots of skin and you'll be super south beach!

trend of the week: tie dye!

dear bloggers,
yes not just distressed, not acid wash, this summer its all about Tie-Dye Denim!
but it doesn't juststop in jeans it can be a cotton tee but it just has the color and style of tie-dye denim.
In factwhile that sems to be the popular tie-dye color of the moment but really any tye-dye it what we will be seeing in spring.

we see Tory burch, Blumarine, and rihanna rockin the tye-dye denim leggings.

i wouldn't get more than one classic tie-dye piece just cause this trend comes and goes so quikly and with great frequency. you either love it, hate it, or don't care either way.

fashion World: Los Angeles

dear bloggers,
did you notice a gap between blog post? sorry i was in no other than my hometown, the city of Angels! Los Angeles!
now, LA is a big city and very spread out. it has one distinct area the Downtown LA fashion distrct. i would right and Intro but the website: couldnt've done it better myself, "Welcome to the LA Fashion District, located in downtown Los Angeles. The LA Fashion District spans 90 blocks and is the hub of the apparel industry on the West Coast. Retailers, wholesale buyers, designers, stylists, students, shoppers and residents all converge here. Whether you're a wholesale buyer reviewing the latest collections in the District's designer showrooms, or a shopper on the prowl for a bargain - it's all here: apparel and accessories for the entire family, textiles, flowers, even live/work lofts." that is one of the best places not just for cloths but for anything! its cheap, chic and oh so vibrant.

Now traditional when you think of west coat style everyone traditionally will say LA is all about the jeans and a T-shirt either with flip flops or Chuck taylors. which is true...BUT there is so much more to offer! in the land of Pop Culture and Celebrities if you're a nobody you're trying to be a somebody and if your a somebody your trying to stay that way! so naturally we will have quite a few ahem "vibrant characters" walking down the street. As i observed a few on this blog:
Really, i would say if New York is all about "High Fashion" i would say LA is about "street fashion" or everyday fashion.

As an article stated in Fashion LA Magazine "LOS ANGELES - LA has often been compared to a tossed salad, a combination of distinct ingredients that create something even more tantalizing when mixed together. In a city full of such cultural diversity, this concept shows up in our sense of style as well.
Whether it's a combination of tribal and animal prints or a sun dress paired with a pair of cowboy boots, on any given day Angelenos can be seen expressing their own style through unexpected combinations."
some popular designers/ Retailors that set a base of "very West Coast style" and happen to be in LA are:
Ed Hardy

American Apparrel

Guess, Inc.

Abercrombie and Fitch

since i cannot really summarize LA as one type of style i will try to use three phrases not necessarily relating into one idea. (of course the idea is: LA)
1)Rock n' Roll
2)Red carpet glamour
3)jeans and T's evolution
ok i gotta do a fourth!

designer spotlight: Karl Lagerfield for Chanel

dear bloggers,
Yet another personal favorite! Chanel! a true inspiration behind a brand famous and invied around the world, Chanel! how did this pairing come to be?

Karl Legerfeld was born in Hamburg, Germany. Lagerfeld claims he was born in 1938 but record report other wise. and the rest we say is history. why such a short autobiography? well the man himself said, "I like today and perhaps a little future still, but the past is really something I'm not interested in. So, as far as I'm concerned, I like only the past of things and people I don't know. When I know, I don't care because I knew how it was."

However, Chanel!
the Chanel label has become one of the most recognized names in the luxury and haute couture fashion industry. Pre-Lagerfeld Chanel was headed by Gabrielle "coco" Chanel a very Parisian very sophisticated revolutionary. she brought the fashion industry back to basics and brought new designs and cuts, incorporating elegance, class, and originality.Under her tight reign from 1909–1971, Coco Chanel held the title as ‘Chief Designer’ until her death on January 10, 1971. In 1983, Lagerfeld took over as chief designer for Chanel. He changed Chanel's fashion lines from the old lines to shorter cuts and eye capturing designs. During the 1980s, more than 40 Chanel boutiques were opened up worldwide. By the end of the 1980s, these boutiques sold goods ranging from US$200-per-ounce perfume, US$225 ballerina slippers to US$11,000 dresses and US$2,000 leather handbags. i mean really unless you live under a rock, you know chanel, you've seen chanel, and you love chanel!

designer spotLight: John Galliano

dear bloggers,
i would like to talk about a designr that has a vivid imagination and interprets it through every aspect life. his designs are dramatic, his show are always a spectacle. john galliano is one of the most influential designers of our time! if you only see one fashion show in your life time GO to a Dior Haute couture fashion show where Galliano is the designer/puppet master.

To think such a man must have spent his whole life surounded by the arts and design, but no, it wasn't untill he was 16 he discovered the art scene when he went to college to study design. he qickly opens his own desin house after graduation, but by 1991 he moves to paris with nothing to his name. thus,in 1993, his genius does not go unoticed, Anna Wintour od american vogue reckognizes his skill and promotes him. In 1995 He is appointed chief designer of Givency. And By 1997 he presents his his first collection for Dior Haute Couture the collecions he is most known.
Today Galliano With the renewal of his Dior contract, the John Galliano label is going under the LVMH umbrella, ensuring an even higher profile for the designer, whose era-juggling, sensibility-mixing collections keep him at the tip-top of high fashion.
